Studio Drake is an established architecture studio with over 15 years experience.

We focus on carefully considered architectural designs which are rooted by meaning and a sense of connection to individual clients, place and community.

We don’t see design as a fixed process but is a fluid, responsive and collaborative method to create meaningful spaces.

Every project is unique, with its own story and character. Our proposals are not controlled by a specific style but informed by a reason.

Preparation

At the inception of any project we delve into the reasoning behind the proposal, the story of our clients, the needs of the space and the history, opportunities and limitations of a specific site. We ensure that all design opportunities are seamlessly integrated and all constraints are considered.

2.

Concept

Every proposal starts with an idea. Through careful consideration of the brief, site and with experimentations and collaboration with our clients an initial proposal is formed. Our process relies on traditional drawing technicals and model making but also employs computer based modelling and rendering software.

3.

Developed Design

The initial concept design is refined and through testing, 3D modelling and experimentation a comprehensive design proposal is created.

Relevant planning and statutory approvals are sought.

4.

Technical Design

The mechanisms are created to allow the design to transfer from an idea to a physical structure and space. We create all technical plans, scheduling and documentation for tendering and relevant statutory approvals. We continue to seek out new means to construct buildings in a more economical and sustainable way.

5.

Construction

Where concept becomes reality. We have experience running small and large scale projects from inception to completion and are happy to assist with guidance and support throughout the construction phase.
